Although not technically a puerh tea since the Liu An does not come from the Yunnan province, it is classified in this section due to its fermentation and aging processes. Originating in the Anhui province, it gained popularity as a medicinal beverage to aid digestion and general malaise during the Ming Dynasty. Liu An has a delightful smooth, nutty flavor that mellows and gains complexity with age. As with all puerhs, the tea is capable of multiple infusions.
